Delightful Brunch Ideas

Everybody loves brunch and all its wonderful possibilities. Avocado toast, poached eggs, bagels & lox, French toast dusted with powdered sugar topped with fresh fruit…all are to die for! With so many options, there’s no reason to have a basic brunch, and we’re here with ideas to spruce things up even further.

Eggcellent Eggs

Eggs are a staple on almost any brunch menu. They’re healthy, packed with protein and nutrients, easy to prepare, and can be done in a myriad of ways. Whether you like scrambled, over easy, poached, or a variation on the Benedict version, eggs for brunch just make sense. Make those eggs even better with a few of our ideas below.

 

Simple scrambled eggs don't have to be boring. To make light and fluffy scrambled eggs, start with breaking the eggs into a bowl, then use a whisk to stir in seasonings to taste. We prefer just sea salt and a dash of cracked pepper. Milk is optional and can actually weigh down the eggs - the secret to keeping them fluffy is plenty of whisking and having your pan preheated before pouring in the eggs. What you do with the eggs after the pan is what makes a world of difference.


Once you plate the eggs, our favorite combination is simple yet divine - top with chopped chives, some crème fraîche, and a dollop of Classic Baika Caviar adds a pop of flavor and brine atop the dish. To really impress your guests, serve alongside a steamed lobster tail and change everyone’s minds about scrambled eggs for good!

Better Than Basic Benedict

 

We’d be remiss to mention brunch ideas and leave out Eggs Benedict as variations are popular on brunch menus around the globe. We’ve seen the classic Eggs Benedict, Lobster Benedict, even BBQ Brisket Benedict but our favorite comes back to the addition of two Petrossian staples - caviar and smoked salmon. Our caviar brunch variation is prepared the same as standard Eggs Benedict, simply replacing the Canadian bacon with smoked salmon. Which smoked salmon is the question and we have suggestions. Then of course comes the caviar. When the Eggs & Smoked Salmon Benedict is plated, top with a spoonful of caviar. Ahhh Avocado Toast

We know not everyone is as excited about eggs as we are, and of course avocado toast always has a place at our brunch table. Rather than a plain avocado spread or sliced avocado with whipped feta and tomato, we have a few brunch ideas to make this toast the toast of your next brunch gathering! 

 

When it comes to avocado toast, we prefer to keep it simple and let the quality of the ingredients shine through. Skip the cheeses as even whipped feta can feel a bit heavy and overpower the flavors. A simple crushed avocado spread over toast is our favorite foundation. From there, drizzle with a dash of Piedmont White Truffle Olive Oil and you’re off to a fantastic start. This luscious olive oil has an intoxicating scent, earthy notes and that irresistible gush on the palate that creates an amazing base for your avocado toast.


From there, add ribbons of smoked salmon with some chopped parsley and dill. Our Dill Marinated Tsar-Cut® Salmon plays nicely with the flavor of the oil and fresh chopped dill and parsley. Or to bring out even more of the Mediterranean flavors of the oil, our Smoked Salmon Carpaccio is already sliced paper-thin and seasoned with our special combination of Mediterranean spices that will make you swoon. For the final touch, drop some salmon roe on top and enjoy its immense burst and sweet tanginess as all the flavors come together perfectly!
